Service policies
These are the policies R&M Cargo operates under for importing parcels and freight from the United States to Nicaragua. Read them before you buy: most delays, and most charges that come as a surprise, trace back to one of these points.
A transcription of the policy document R&M Cargo gives its customers, dated 11 September 2026.

2Delivery times
Carriers reaching our Miami warehouse
Delivery times for Amazon, UPS, USPS, FedEx, GOFO, SPEEDX and any other external company are outside our control. Our service begins when we receive your package at the Miami warehouse and ends when we hand it to you at the office in Nicaragua.
Sea shipments
- Estimated time: 15 business days from departure out of Miami.
- Departures: every Friday.
Air shipments
- Estimated time: 24 to 72 business hours from departure out of Miami.
- Departures: Monday to Thursday, subject to airline availability.
3Labelling and internal processes
Mislabelled packages
A mislabelled package is sent to the HOLD section, which can cause delays. The correct labelling is RYM AÉREO or RYM MARÍTIMO, depending on the route you chose.
Changing route
Changes between sea and air are not permitted in either direction. This is to keep the operational and logistics process as fast as possible.
4Claims
Procedure
- Ask our Customer Service team for the claim form.
- The legal or finance department replies within 10 to 15 business days.
Shipments by third parties
The company may help you arrange or coordinate shipments with external transport companies. Once the product has been handed to the chosen logistics provider or carrier, responsibility for its transport, handling and delivery rests exclusively with that company. R&M Cargo is not responsible for loss, theft, damage, delay or any other incident occurring during that transport, and any claim is handled directly with the carrier concerned.
Deadline for information requests and package claims
Any request for information, tracking, clarification or claim about a package shipped from Miami must be made within a maximum of fifteen (15) calendar days from the delivery date recorded on the purchase platform. This applies equally to air and sea. After that deadline the company does not guarantee the availability of information, investigation or handling, given the tracking limitations with suppliers and carriers.
Differences in the invoiced weight
Any claim about a difference in the invoiced weight, or a request to check for a possible data-entry error, must be made within a maximum of seven (7) calendar days from the invoice date. Once a claim is received within that window, the company reviews its operational records and available documentation. After seven calendar days with no claim, the invoice is considered accepted and no adjustments, refunds or later reviews apply.
Handover of the package
The company's responsibility for safekeeping and custody of a package ends at the moment the customer accepts the goods and signs the invoice or delivery note. Once delivery is signed for, the company is not responsible for loss, theft or damage occurring afterwards: the signature is evidence that the shipment was received in satisfactory condition.
5Abandoned packages
A package is considered abandoned after 1 month without being collected from our offices. R&M Cargo is not responsible for packages abandoned after that period.
6Guarantees on sea shipments
There is no guarantee for fragile items, or items needing special protection, that do not travel in adequate packaging or carry a FRAGILE sticker. These include:
- Perfume
- Glass items and glassware generally
- Televisions without their original packaging
- Unprotected furniture
- Screens, monitors and security cameras without protection
- Computers, smartwatches, headphones and phones
- Quartz watches
R&M Cargo's recommendation: send these items by air, which is the safer route.
7Prohibited items
Not carried:
- Drones, spy cameras and specialised binoculars
- Pornography
- Sharp objects and syringes
- Cash
- Perishable food and animals
- Explosives and radioactive material
- Tyres of any kind
- Vapes
8Promotions
Every promotion announced on social media, on the website or through any communication channel — television, radio, Facebook Live, TikTok, Instagram, X, WhatsApp — has a start date and an end date. Prizes and special rates only take effect within those dates. Any parcel or freight received outside the stated dates is charged at the regular rate.
9Receiving at the Miami warehouse
All parcels and freight received at the Miami warehouse are re-weighed before being handed over at the Nicaragua office. Being a receiving port, the Miami intake sheet can record weights below or above the real one; we weigh the item before handing it over to avoid any misrepresentation.
If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy. It is cheaper than fixing it afterwards.
